The Ducks are an unknown number of ducks that appear rarely at Baldie Carrot, the Cats' Protector (commonly known as the Duck Feeder due to the ducks that visit). The ducks will very quickly peck at the food and stare at the camera, making a loud clacking noise when their beak hits the feeder.

According to the Caretaker, there are 4 white ducks on the farm.

Behavior

The ducks will usually appear for a short time, eating food quickly and leaving once it is finished. When cats see the ducks approaching they will run away. The only recorded sighting of a duck and a cat interacting is when Ms. Opera was attacked by a muscovy duck.

Appearance

There are 3 documented types of ducks that visit the Duck Feeder. 4 fully white ducks with orange beaks that can usually be seen together; Muscovy ducks, which are black and white with red markings around their eyes; and a Rouen duck, which has a brown and white body with a green head.

3 ducks seen in the invasion (GIF)
  • June 23, 2024:
    • At 2:27 AM, 4 white ducks invaded the feeder. They ate with unparalleled speed, emptying a fair amount of kibble in just a few minutes. They all left around 2:30 AM. Presumedly, the same 4 ducks kept coming back multiple times in the night, scaring off any cats who wanted to eat.
    • At 3:04 AM, a muscovy duck hesitantly approached the feeder. They ate most of what was dispensed before leaving at 3:10 AM when 2 white ducks came to the feeder - most likely the ones that had invaded earlier.
  • June 24, 2024: At 2:19 PM (LFT), a muscovy duck ate kibble at the feeder. It left after finishing, coming back briefly to see if there was any more.

July 2024

  • July 5, 2024: At 11:24 AM (LFT), the Caretaker let the 4 white ducks out. They immediately went to the feeder and ate everything quickly. Afterward, they could be seen walking around the feeder, waiting for food to dispense. At 11:55 AM (LFT), a Rouen duck passed by the feeder multiple times, but could not get in to eat due to the white ducks hoarding it. This is the first documented Rouen duck sighting seen on the farm.

(Not every cat sighting is documented.)
