Poe is a black and white tuxedo kitten who frequents the Eat Enough Every Day (每天都能吃饱饱) feeder. He was named after his resemblance to Edgar Allen Poe, the American poet, due to the prominent marking under his nose which looks like a moustache.
Poe and his sister Poppy (named after the orange color due to her calico markings) have been named with ‘P’ as the first letter of their name like their mother, Ms. Pegmatite. Together they are known as ‘Poppy & Poe’ and are Pegmatite’s second litter, after The Minerals.
He was first sighted on 29th November 2024, accompanied by his sister and mother.
Behavior
Poe is known to be curious, quiet, friendly towards other cats and extremely playful. He is an ‘extroverted’ cat; he usually seeks to make friends with other cats, often walking towards, meowing and staring at them.
He first made friends with Jesse of The Jonkler Brothers and they were seen sitting together in the feeder. Poe would look up at him and meow cutely as Jesse looked down at him in amusement. The community now calls him Jesse’s sidekick.
Poe has hissed at Silver during their first meeting.
He has developed a father-son relationship with Big Bicolored Orange Cat That Loves to Sleep. He would meow and rub against BBOCTLS who is suffering from stomatitis. Even though the large orange cat reacted aggressively, Poe still stayed with him while he rested, gently pawing at him and slowly laying down against him affectionately until BBCLOTS accepted him.
He also tried to initiate play with one of Granite’s kittens by playing with the feeder’s ‘bumblebee’ toy.
He is often seen playing by himself in the feeder.
Appearance
Poe is covered with black fur from his head, covering his pale yellow eyes, across his back and down his tail. Only his snout, neck, underbelly and legs are white, save for his little black moustache. His fur pattern is a tuxedo. He is fairly small as he is still a kitten, as of 29th January, 2025.
He looks almost identical to his older brother Lithium, from Pegmatite’s previous litter The Minerals, which is one of the many cases of the feeder having extremely similar looking cats and thus are jokingly called ‘clones’ of each other. He was called ‘Lithium clone’ after his first sighting, and his sister was called ‘Ember clone’ due to her similarity with Ms. Ember.
