Azula is a tortoiseshell cat that appears at Huanzi Animal Rescue Base. She is one of two tortoiseshells at the feeder; the other is Zuko. Azula was named after Azula[1], the sister of Zuko, from the American animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender[2]. Since they are the only two tortoiseshells, she and Zuko were named as a pair; Zuko was named as the one with one poorly functioning eye, while Azula was named as the one with two fully functioning eyes.
Behavior
Azula regularly hangs out with the other cats at the feeder without issue. She generally doesn't mind other cats entering the feeder while she's there. When other cats are eating, she likes to sit back and watch them. However, she has on occasion been seen swatting at other cats who are in the feeder with her, without any obvious provocation. She typically doesn't hang out in the feeder; if the bowl is empty, she will only hang out for a couple of minutes before leaving.
Appearance
Azula is a Tortoiseshell cat. Her main defining feature is the patch of black that takes up almost the entire right half of her face. The rest of her face is mostly orange. The patches of orange and black are pretty evenly dispersed across the rest of her body. Her paws, chest, and back are a mix of orange and black. Her back has slightly more black than Zuko's; there is a semi-faint line of black that crosses the middle of her back.
Sightings
Month Year
- July 17, 2024:
- At 8:07 AM (LFT), Azula was seen sitting at the feeder, staring at the almost-empty feeder bowl. She sniffed it a little, sat back and waited some more, then decided to pick at what was left in the bowl. While she was eating, Mr. Stubbs and an unnamed black and white cat came to watch her. She stepped out of the feeder at 8:11, then watched as Mr. Stubbs ate. At 8:20, she returned to the feeder and picked some more at what was left until an unnamed tux shooed her away at 8:22.
- At 1:25 PM (LFT), Azula was seen eating at the feeder bowl, which now had slightly more food. She left around 1:27.
- July 18, 2024: At 8:11 AM (LFT), Azula entered the feeder, joining Mr. Socks, who entered a second before. Soon after, food was dispensed, and Mr. Socks began to eat while Azula sat along the back of the feeder and watched. When they heard the sound of food dropping, three more cats arrived at the feeder, including Inkspot. A few minutes later, the party was over, and just Azula and Mr. Socks remained in the feeder. When Mr. Socks left at 8:16, Azula finally began to eat what was left. Azula left around 8:20.
- July 19, 2024: Around 2:21 AM (LFT), Azula was seen eating from the feeder. Soon after, she sat along the back of the feeder. While sitting back, an unnamed tabby partially entered the feeder and started eating; Azula swatted it away. She left at 2:26.
(Not every cat sighting is documented.)
