The Exploration Era

The Exploration Era is the current era in the Hello Street Cat community. In this era, new feeders are searched and documented. This era officially started on March 10th, 2024, and is still ongoing. This era came after the Brother Fresh's Last Day era and before the next era.

Start

This era started slowly, shortly after Mr. Fresh’s official adoption. People were wondering about the future of Hello Street Cat and were waiting for something to be interested in after Mr. Fresh departed. This is when they started searching around the Duck Feeder. They looked into it and found a lot of interesting information about it, slowly making pages and getting interested about the cats being found there. This started happening with more and more previously unknown feeders. This still continues, and is likely to for the foreseeable future, considering the sheer number of feeders.

The Search for Brother Calm

The one and only

After the initial interest in the Duck feeder started, people felt overwhelmed by all the new cats being found. The community calmed down for a while until people in the Discord started thinking about how Brother Calm's feeder is unknown. The community decided to start a search. After checking many feeders and documenting the closest ones, they did not find anything. The search is still ongoing.

Luckily, a lot of other feeders for other lost feeders have been found in this time. (i.e Mr. Shock’s feeder, Mr. Despair’s feeder, Mr. Excavator's feeder.)

The Google Translated Feeder names

With people searching for Brother Calm, they started to realize that when they translated the feeder names to English, the translator gave some questionable and funny results. People kept searching and finding new feeders with funny names to enjoy and explored more feeders through this. The search for funny feeder names continues.

Yahiamice's video

On May 2, 2024, the Moroccan youtuber “Yahiamice” made a video which is a shortened version of his stream VOD published on March 24, 2024, were he messed around with the wiki and meow.camera. This video is probably the most popular non-meme HelloStreetCat video and is one of the most viewed videos on his channel. This would give a lot of popularity to the website and wiki, apart from having Boo renamed multiple times.

The TGB exodus

On May 9, 2024, The Gluttonous Beast would appear for the last time in the feeder, which left his admirers heartbroken and confused. It is theorized the culprit behind his exile was Mrs. Kirby due to her constant bullying.

Mr. Snack’s adoption

Due to an injury in Mr. Snack's ear, he was taken to be treated and later adopted. This would be an important event in this era, but unlike Mr. Fresh, it did not mark the end as it didn’t significantly change the English or Chinese community.

The 2024 Summer Kitten Explosion

Abduction

This special event happened in June and July when a rise in kittens was discovered. Sometimes, these kittens were abandoned (some were adopted by other cats, although very rarely). Some examples of this would be Pinto and Bean. Fortunately, many were raised by their mothers, such as Mrs. Island (off-camera), Mr. Sun, and Bob.

The 2024 Happy Canteen famine

Famine struck the Happy Canteen feeder on June 6, 2024, causing there to be not a single snack crumb for 15 hours. During this time, the unfortunate soul of Ms. Puke waited an entire hour, but to her dismay, there was no kibble to puke.

Mr. Turkey's TNR and great escape

• TNR:

As Mr. Turkey developed stomatitis, a Trap was set in the Happy Canteen to be able to catch and cure him. He entered the trap on July 18, 2024, and was taken by HSC’s personnel at 3:15 AM (LFT). He stayed in the adoption center for a while, until…

• The escape:

On August 26, 2024, Mr. Turkey managed to escape the adoption centre and walked a large distance (equivalent to a 1-hour drive) back to the Happy Canteen/Auspicious Restaurant.

He returned to the park on August 31, 2024, and resumed his ritual of staring into the feeder cameras until he was adopted into Mr. Fresh's home sometime before September 16, 2024.

The Return of Famine

On October 9, 2024, Happy Canteen was once again struck with famine. With no kibble left and barely any snacks, the cats had to resolve to eat the small leftover pieces of kibble, with some even licking the feeder clean. Eventually, both the kibble and snacks were restocked sometime during the late afternoon and the cats went right back to feasting.

Unfortunately, the cats’s happiness couldn’t last long because two days later on October 11, 2024, famine struck again.

The Feeder Renaissance Period

This is, by far, one of the most important events in the Exploration Era and one could easily use it as the starting point of a new era in their own mental HSC timeline.

This period is composed of multiple events, all sharing the theme of something from the past returning or a popular feeder getting a major update/change. This period englobes events happening from September to October.

• Mr. Despair's feeder was found on August 1, 2024, and he was eventually spotted there on October 8, 2024. He would go on to be a common visitor alongside his children, glazing us with his depression.
• Blessings Be With You, known for being the home of Mr. Happy, was brought back online on September 29, 2024, bringing new visitors and Halloween-themed decor for October.
• Mrs. Dress returned from her stay at the vet on September 28, 2024, with the Caretaker bringing her a new bed, and later changing the back camera to show the beds above the feeder.
• After a 3 month hiatus, Big Faced Brother returned on October 10, 2024.
• Mr. Turkey's permanently moved into Brother Fresh’s Exclusive Castle CatMojo, with Mr. Fresh being slightly intimidated by him.
• GOODCAT began to see a plethora of new cats arriving at the feeder for unknown reasons.

There doesn't seem to be any near end to this era any time soon, with a large variety of feeders to explore. People are excited to see the future of this era and what comes out of it.
