Reid is a kitten that appears at A Litter of Cats Who Love Each Other. He is one of Cob's two kittens (his sister is Hudson). Cob's kittens were named after corn varieties, as "cob" is the name for the center of an ear of corn. Reid was named after Reid's Yellow Dent, a widely-grown yellow field corn variety. Reid and his sister were first sighted by the global community on January 19, 2025.
Behavior
Reid is a very interesting cat. He is a major snuggle bug, always wanting to be all over his mother and sister. He has made a habit of climbing directly on top of his mother and sister and laying down. His favorite activity to do with his mother is to shove his head into her armpit, with his face sticking out the back of her arm. He will also go out of his way to shove the front of his body underneath his mother, often meowing in protest until he is comfortable. Cob generally looks uncomfortable when he does this, but she doesn't stop him from doing it.
He enjoys eating, and will eat both snacks and kibble. He likes to climb into the bowl to eat. While he looks like he would be a scaredy cat, he was actually usually brave when food was dropped, either staying in the bowl or climbing out but staying in front of the bowl. Reid also enjoys meowing a lot. Reid frequently faces the back camera, making lots of funny faces. Reid's eccentricities, as well as his Bob-like appearance and tendency to pout, has led some to draw comparisons between him and Bill.
Appearance
Reid is an Orange Tabby. His appearance is extremely similar to Bill's appearance as a kitten— like baby Bill, he has big eyes, huge ears, a long nose, and cheeks that aren't filled out. Reid's fur is mostly orange, but he has white spotting on his chest, underside and paws.

Sightings
January 2025
- January 19, 2025:
- Around 11:30 AM (LFT), Reid was spotted for the first time. He was eating snacks and kibble while his mother laid outside. When food was dropped, he was startled, but not enough to go sprinting out of the feeder like many of the other kittens do. When he finished eating, he sat in front of the bowl, with a piece of kibble dangling from his nose. As he ate the kibble on his nose, more kibble was dropped, and his mother entered the feeder to eat.
- At 6:48 PM (LFT), Reid was seen standing in the bowl while his mother and his sister, Hudson, sat beside him. While in the bowl, he took the kibble dropping like a champ, but when snacks were dropped, he jumped out of the bowl. He soon recuperated, though, and ate the freshly dropped food alongside his mother.
- January 20, 2025:
- At 8:55 AM (LFT), Reid was seen standing in front of the bowl. He ate a few pieces of kibble, then joined Hudson in playing around the feeder. He stood on the outside of the feeder, out of view of the cameras, sticking his paws through the tarp and trying to pull them back out before Hudson could pounce on them. They played this game for quite a while.
- Around 3:45 PM (LFT), Reid was seen staring into the bowl while Hudson stood by him. He had something stuck to his face. Eventually, he laid down in front of the bowl.
February 2025
- February 3, 2025:
- Around 2:30 AM (LFT), Reid was seen sleeping in the feeder alongside his family. A while later, Cob got up and left for a few minutes; while she was gone, Reid got up and ate some chicken snacks. He then passed back out in the middle of the floor. After Cob and Hudson hung out some, Cob laid down outside and Hudson snuggled up against Reid.
- Around 11:45 PM (LFT), Reid was seen standing beside his mother while she ate. He then squeezed himself in so he could eat as well. After his mother left, he climbed inside the bowl and continued eating. When she came back, he climbed out and hung out with the rest of his family. Reid meowed a lot while his mother ate and his sister sniffed the back camera. Once everyone was laid back down, they rested some, then Reid decided he wanted to dig his head under his mother's armpit. With his head stuck under her arm, Reid was very happy, and Cob could not lay down. Once Reid got bored of that, the three of them snuggled up in a pile, forming an almost perfect oval.
- February 5, 2025: Around 11:55 PM (LFT), Reid was seen eating alongside his mother. Hudson soon joined, and the three were all crammed in the bowl, eating all at once. Reid squeezed his head in a little further so he could get to the food toward the back of the bowl. When Reid was finished eating, he laid directly under his mother, with his head sticking out right under her tail. He laid in that position with a contented smile. Once Cob moved, sitting toward the back of the feeder, Reid resumed his game of shoving his face into her armpit.
- February 6, 2025: Around 10:50 PM (LFT), Reid was seen snuggled up against Hudson while their mom sat next to them. Hudson sat up, and Reid promptly (and gently) pushed his head into her stomach, causing her to move to the other side of the feeder. Reid gave the back camera some love, then meowed constantly while Cob groomed him and his sister. Reid then, once again, shoved his head into his mom's armpit. The family then laid back down, Hudson laying directly on top of Reid.
- February 7, 2025: Around 5:00 AM (LFT), Reid was seen eating at the feeder, a minute before the rest of his family showed up. When Cob and Hudson showed up, Reid climbed into the bowl and laid down, forcing them to eat around him. Once he got out of the bowl, he laid toward the back of the feeder and started meowing constantly again.
- February 8, 2025: Around 1:15 AM (LFT), Reid and Hudson were seen sitting right outside the feeder, staring back at their mother, who was staring at them from inside. They came inside and ate some, then they laid down, Reid laying right under Cob so she couldn't lay down. After a few minutes, Reid got up and squished himself between Cob and Hudson. When Cob sat back up, Reid promptly shoved his head right under her.
- February 16, 2024:
- Around 3:10 AM (LFT), Reid was seen in the feeder with his mother. Soon after, Hudson showed up and began eating. While she ate, Reid climbed directly on top of his mother's back, then laid down. When Hudson joined the snuggle pile, he rested his head on her back.
- Around 6:55 AM (LFT), Reid was seen in the feeder, resting his head on Hudson's back while they both slept. Cob laid just outside the feeder, in the gap between the feeder and the wall. Soon after, an unnamed brown tabby showed up and ate. The tabby did not bother the Coblets, and the Coblets sat and watched him eat. Hudson leaned forward to sniff him a little, to which he responded by turning around to look at the two. When he finished eating, he left immediately. Reid, now with his paw resting on his sister's back, looked toward the outside of the feeder with a confounded expression. After the kittens got over their confusion, they went back to sleep.
