Dr. Smudge is a new cat recently spotted at the feeder. He appears on the Happy Canteen and his first sighting was on February 23rd, 2024, at approximately 2:16 UTC+8.
Unlike most male cats, he does not have the honorific of "Mr.", but instead has the honorific of "Dr."
Behavior
Dr. Smudge appears to be the curious sort, indicated by how he has been seen sniffing around the cat house and often looks around while eating. He also likes the catnip ball on the wall opposite of the feeder bowl.
Appearance
His coat is mostly white with orange patches. He has a distinct pattern on his upper back that resembles a splatter. His lower half and tail are orange while his hind legs are white. He has two small orange dots above his eyes as well.
Sightings
On February 23rd, 2024, at 2:16 UTC+8, Dr. Smudge appeared for the first time and ate from the feeder for a while. Afterwards, he played, licked the catnip ball, ate a bit more, and then left.
On February 29th, 2024, at 11:17 pm feeder time, Dr. Smudge appeared from the shadows and ate from Mount Kibble while being watched by Mr. Beetle, once noticed, Dr, Smudge continously growled at Mr. Beetle until leaving after 20 minutes.
On March 3rd, 2024, at 10:09 pm (local feeder time), Dr. Smudge was spotted eating from the feeder. During the time of his presence, there was a moment where he was growling to a cat outside.
Discourse
After the previous naming of Ms. Halo (formerly Ms. Lobotomy) being by the YouTube Chat, the Discord server has been on guard for any other names created by it. Both Ms. Halo and Dr. Smudge have previously suggested names that could be perceived as offensive or controversial. In addition to these concerns, members of the community find it enjoyable to engage in banter with one another in the process of naming a new cat. Thus, the Discord server agreed on the name Dr. Smudge and that the prior name of Mr. Addict did not suit the cat.
