Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola is a kitten who stayed at Big Man's Cat Houses. She was left by a random human inside the stray cat shed, and was quickly brought to the vet using a helicopter. The vet held her in one hand and a Coca-Cola can in the other, which gave her the name Cola. She was the youngest cat at the shelter, and was kept inside a cage for the majority of her stay, likely due to being too young to roam around.
Coca-Cola was adopted on November 8, 2024.
Behavior
Coca-Cola was scared of the other cats at first and would hiss at them, but has quickly learned to be friendly. She liked to play with them through the confines of her cage. Possibly due to her size, she can get scared if they swarm her too much. She will often meow, especially when she wants to protest something. She sometimes struggles when someone picks her up, but is otherwise unbothered by humans.
She has a love for food and can usually be found at the food bowl when she escapes the confines of her cell. Due to her size, she will often climb inside to reach better.
Appearance
Coca-Cola is the youngest cat at Big Man's Cat House and can easily be identified by her size. She is a brown tabby with dark brown stripes across her body. She has a small amount of white around her chest, chin, and eyes. Her nose is a lighter brown than the rest of her body.
Sightings
August 2024
- August 6, 2024: At around 7:03 PM (LFT), Coca-Cola was dumped inside the stray cat shed by a human. She wandered over to the feeder and mewled loudly while looking around. The Caretaker found her and made arrangements to get her to the vet through a helicopter. When they got there, the vet picked up small Cola in one hand and a Coca-Cola can in the other, which got her the name Cola. Afterward, she was given milk and some treats to try.
- August 14, 2024: The Caretaker posted an update video of Cola at the vet. She was meowing loudly while the person held her in their hand.
- August 16, 2024: At 4:00 PM (LFT), Cola was introduced to the indoor Big Man cats for a short while. She was brought back outside as she was too small to stay there.
- August 29, 2024:
- Sometime in the morning, Cola was seen confined in the first glass cage of the stray shed. She was rolling around in a big bed.
- At 5:22 PM (LFT), Cola was brought back to see the indoor Big Man cats. She had a cone on for a short time but it was taken off while in the room. She wandered over to the feeder and happily started eating food while a Caretaker supervised her. When she attempted to climb into the bowl to reach for more food, the person grabbed her and put her back on the floor while she meowed in protest. She continued to eat, this time from the floor, when the other cats (some thought to be Ball and Mx. Drizzle) got curious and approached her. Despite the others being simply curious, she hissed at them when they got too close. Eventually, she was brought out of the room at 5:58 PM and put back inside the shed.
- August 30, 2024: At 9:02 AM (LFT), Cola was running around in her glass confinements.
- August 31, 2024: At 9:13 AM (LFT), a Caretaker brought Cola out of her cell to give her medicine. She struggled around and kept trying to run back inside, but eventually, all the medicine was given. When she was put back inside, she happily sat and watched the cat next door try to escape her own cell.
September 2024
- September 2, 2024: In the morning, a new cage was set up in the indoor area for Cola. The other cats observed her as she walked around in the cage.
- September 3, 2024: At 9:32 AM (LFT), Cola jumped between the platforms in her cage. She watched a ragdoll as they walked close by.
- September 6, 2024:
- In the early morning, Cola happily played with one of the grey kittens (likely Ms. Pearl) while still inside the cage.
- At 11:51 AM (LFT), Cola pawed at Ms. Companion while she was near the cage. After Ms. Companion lost interest, Cola attempted to escape by climbing the bars of her cage.
- At around 1:30 PM (LFT), a Caretaker accidentally left Cola's cage door open. The small kitten made her daring escape at around 2:00 PM once she realized it was open. By 2:12 PM, she had wandered over to the opposite side of the room and found Feeder 1. At first, she tried to eat politely but soon discovered she could not reach much food from the floor and climbed in. She ate for around 5 minutes and then decided to explore more of the room. This is when Ms. Companion and an unnamed dark grey cat discovered her outside. They approached her, but she got scared and hid between the shelves. The older cats thought this was a game and chased her around the room. She had fully hidden behind a litter box before a Caretaker came inside and found her at 2:27 PM. The person introduced her to the cats more carefully for a short while before putting her back in the cage.
- At 5:30 PM (LFT), the Caretakers built up Cola a new cage. While they transferred her inside she tried to make a run for the food bowl but was quickly stopped. Ms. Suduri, Ms. Pearl, and Ball were seen exploring the cage and sniffing at Cola. She enjoyed a long drink of water once inside.
