Tob is a Torbie that appears at A Litter of Cats Who Love Each Other. Tob has a name that rhymes with Bob because of her extremely similar appearance to Bob, despite her different coat color. Also, like Bob, she has the ability to make a wide variety of freaky faces. She was first sighted by the global community on September 15th, 2024.
Behavior
Tob, for her freaky appearance, behaves pretty normally at the feeder. Her normal routine is to show up, wait, eat chicken snacks, and leave. She has a strong preference for chicken snacks, and almost always refuses to eat kibble. While waiting for food, she likes to sniff up into the chicken snack dispenser. Like Rob, she enjoys getting very close to the camera then staring very intensely. She is almost always seen alone at the feeder.
Appearance
Tob is a Tortoiseshell Tabby. She has one of the more striking coat patterns at the feeder. The top of her head is brown with a bright orange stripe in the middle. The area to the sides and under her eyes are bright orange, and the area around her mouth is white. She has a pink nose. Her nose is very long, and her eyes are big and round.
Her chest and underside are white. Her back is a pretty even mix of brown and orange; stripes appear mostly on her upper back. The tabby stripes on her front legs go down to her paws, while on her back legs they only go about 1/3 of the way down her leg. Her tail is brown.
Sightings
September 2024
- September 15, 2024: At 11:09 AM (LFT), Tob slowly approached the feeder slowly in her first documented sighting. She sniffed the few pieces of kibble in the bowl, then looked around the feeder while making lots of freaky faces. Snacks and kibble were soon dropped for her. She ate only the snacks before leaving at 11:20.
- September 29, 2024: At 9:24 AM (LFT), Tob was seen eating freshly dropped chicken snacks. When she finished those, she sniffed the snacks dispenser, ignoring the kibble in the bowl, hoping for more snacks. Her wish was soon granted, and she gobbled up another round of chicken snacks.
- September 30, 2024: At 11:06 AM (LFT), Tob approached the feeder and looked inside. Some snacks were dropped for her, which she immediately ate all of. When he was finished, she stuck her face in the camera and stared intensely at the viewers. She sniffed the dispensers, hoping for more food, and at 11:14, after nothing else dropped, she left the feeder.
October 2024
- October 11, 2024: At 8:17 AM (LFT), Tob was seen eating chicken snacks as they were dropped. When kibble was dropped, she made many funny faces. When she was done with the chicken snacks, having ignored the kibble, she held her face close to the camera and stared intensely at the viewers. At 8:21, she got up and laid outside.
- October 24, 2024:
- At 11:05 AM (LFT), Tob was seen eating kibble with a look of disappointment. At one point, she walked away from the feeder, then came back right away when she heard chicken snacks drop. She ate just the chicken snacks, then left.
- At 1:22 PM (LFT), Tob sat down outside the feeder while Dan ate. A couple of minutes later, Dan left, and Tob entered the feeder, sad to see that there was only kibble in the bowl.
- October 25, 2024: At 11:44 AM (LFT), Tob sat outside the feeder while Vegeta sat inside. Eventually, Vegeta left and Tob entered the feeder. When Tob saw there was no food, she sniffed the snack dispenser some, then waited. Soon after, she received some chicken snacks to eat.
November 2024
- November 4, 2024: At 9:18 AM (LFT), Tob was seen getting startled by dropping chicken snacks. After looking outside for a second, she gobbled up every last crumb that was dropped.
- November 8, 2024: At 9:50 AM (LFT), Tob entered the feeder. Almost immediately, snacks and kibble were dropped for her, and she began eating.
- November 18, 2024: Around 8:30 PM (LFT), Tob jumped off the roof of the feeder and looked at Rob, who was inside the feeder. Rob looked back at her, then continued eating. Tob sat down and waited her turn; a few minutes later, Rob left, and she entered the feeder and began eating.
- November 20, 2024: Around 7:30 PM (LFT), Tob was seen with one paw in the bowl, eating kibble. At one point, she gave the camera a Rob-like stare, then continued eating.
- November 21, 2024: At 9:42 (LFT), Tob was seen eating kibble. After a few minutes, she held her face very close to the front camera while staring into space.
December 2024
- December 2, 2024: At 10:42 AM (LFT), Tob was seen staring at the kibble in the bowl. After more kibble was dropped, she lifted her head up very close to the dispenser and tried to see up into it.
- December 19, 2024: At 2:44 PM (LFT), Tob placed her front paws in the feeder and looked around, waited for food in that position then left a minute later.
- December 29, 2024: At 1:22 AM (LFT), Tob arrived at the feeder while Wife Guy was eating. She chased Wife Guy away then began eating herself.
January 2025
- January 13, 2025: At 11:40 AM (LFT), Tob was seen looking at the dispenser as snacks were dropped. After looking outside, she began eating.
February 2025
- February 4, 2025: At 10:16 PM (LFT), Tob was seen trying to get through the new insulating tarp that covered the feeder. She stopped trying and sat outside for a minute, then tried again and figured out how to squeeze her way into the feeder. After getting in, she ate from a decent sized pile of snacks and kibble in the bowl.
