Hubert is a cat that appears at A Litter of Cats Who Love Each Other. She initially stood out due to her similar appearance to Maurice. However, with time, she became known for her own sweet personality. In addition, she is notable for appearing in a youtube video[1], showing one of her first appearances, that became quite popular. She was first sighted by the global community on December 19, 2024.
Behavior
Hubert is very patient. She likes hanging out in the feeder, and is willing to wait for food for a long time. While she sits, she likes to close her eyes and relax, as well as sniff around while sitting in place. When she sniffs around, her nose can be seen moving quite a bit. When food is dropped, she looks up into the dispenser for a moment with a wide-eyed expression before eating. She will eat both snacks and kibble, but shows a preference for kibble.
Her interactions with other cats have mostly been negative, although this may be due to her maternal instincts starting to kick in, as she is currently heavily pregnant.
Appearance
Hubert is a tortoiseshell tabby. On her face, her nose and left cheek are orange, while the rest of her face is brown. Her chin and chest are white, and there is a narrow band of white that goes down her underside. Her back has a tortoiseshell pattern, with some tabby stripes appearing on her upper back. Her tail is brown.
Sightings
December 2024
- December 19, 2024: Around 9:10 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen for the first time. She was finishing up the last of the kibble in the bowl. Once she was finished, she looked up at the kibble dispenser, eagerly waiting for more. Soon, several rounds of kibble and chicken snacks were dropped for her, which pleasantly surprised her. Once the food was finished dropping, she started off with the kibble.
- December 22, 2024: Around 10:50 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen eating kibble. Chicken snacks were dropped for her, but she ignored them, finishing off just the kibble then waiting for more. More kibble was soon dropped for her, and, after she looked outside for a second, she happily ate that.
January 2025
- January 2, 2025: Around 8:50 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. After looking around some, she closed her eyes. A few minutes later, kibble was dropped, and she made a very silly surprised face at the dispenser. She then began eating, pausing once to look outside.
- January 5, 2025: Around 1:55 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen in front of a bowl filled with snacks and kibble.
- January 14, 2025: Around 12:55 AM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. She waited patiently, looking up into the kibble dispenser, until snacks were dropped. As the snacks fell, Hubert heard something outside; she left soon after. Right after she left, Wife Guy entered the feeder.
- January 24, 2025: Around 3:55 AM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the mostly-empty bowl, sniffing around. She closed her eyes for a minute, after which an unknown cat approached the feeder. Hubert meowed at this cat several times until kibble was dropped. Hubert ate the kibble, and the situation did not escalate further.
- January 28, 2025: Around 12:55 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen standing inside the feeder while an orange cat sat some distance from the feeder.
- January 29, 2025: Around 3:35 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. A round of kibble was dropped, which she ate all of. She hung out in the feeder for almost half an hour.
February 2025
- February 5, 2025: Around 9:40 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen relaxing in front of the empty bowl. When kibble was dropped, she immediately began eating.
- February 7, 2025: Around 4:30 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the mostly-empty bowl. When she got up to leave, it was noticed that she looked pregnant.
- February 8, 2025: Around 9:30 PM (LFT), Hubert entered the feeder and sat down in front of the empty bowl. She hung out for over 20 minutes before kibble was dropped, which she began eating immediately.
- February 12, 2025: Around 4:30 AM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. Soon after, kibble was dropped, and she immediately began eating.
- February 13, 2025: Around 9:40 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. Kibble was dropped, and she looked outside for a minute before eating.
- February 17, 2025: Around 7:55 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. After waiting for a minute, she closed her eyes and relaxed.
- February 19, 2025: Around 7:15 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen eating kibble that was just dropped for her. While eating, she growled; it was then seen that Theo was sitting in the gap between the feeder and the wall, watching Hubert eat. Hubert then stared at Theo for a minute before hissing at him and running out of the feeder.
- February 26, 2025: Around 9:05 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the bowl, which was filled with kibble, looking outside. She soon hissed and ran out of the feeder. A few seconds later, a brown tabby male entered the feeder and began eating.
- February 27, 2025: Around 8:20 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. About ten minutes later, kibble was dropped, and she began eating.
- February 28, 2025: Around 5:30 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen sitting in front of the empty bowl. Food was soon dropped for her, and she began eating.
March 2025
- March 4, 2025: Around 2:20 PM (LFT), Hubert jumped down from the roof while Apollo ate. Hubert tried to jump back up, but missed and fell, possibly because of her big belly. The sound from her fall scared Apollo out of the feeder, and Hubert went inside and began eating. Apollo stuck around, though, sitting in the gap between the feeder and the wall. A few minutes later, Hubert hissed at Apollo and ran from the feeder.
- March 5, 2025: Around 4:35 PM (LFT), Hubert was seen relaxing happily in front of the empty bowl. When kibble was dropped, she stared up at the kibble dispenser for a long time before eating.
