Dudu (嘟嘟), is one of the cats found at the Team BingBing Helps Stray Cats Find Their Forever Home compound, known under his Chinese name, Dudu. He was not initially given a specific English name; instead he was simply given the title Intimidating Gray, as his fur appeared gray under the feeder lights, and he enjoyed staring deeply into the camera. (A common behavioral characteristic found in the cats at the feeder.)
His role at the BingBing shelter is to be its permanent Social Media Ambassador! He can be spotted commonly on the Team's SNS posts and the Feeder's post wall; and he is typically the cat that represents Team BingBing on Hello Street Cat's voter-based competitions.
Initially, Dudu was an adopted house-cat, however he was abandoned in 2021 by his original owner and was left as a stray until 2022; which was when his caretaker got into contact with Team BingBing. He was eventually placed into their care, where they found that he was unadoptable due to his health issues.
In 2023, Dudu was given the responsibility of becoming Team BingBing's public ambassador due to his silly and cute personality. He has done reception work at the base, and also worked at the promotional stalls Team BingBing holds occasionally.
His personal resume includes:
- Helping 300 cats at the base get adopted.
- Playing with children when they visit the compound.
- Supervising Staff and Cats when the Base Staff are too lazy.
Behavior
The Team BingBing staff describe Dudu as a cute cat with a happy, silly, and stupid personality, and he is a cat on the especially playful side. He can be seen on SNS posts interacting lovingly with the caretakers, and tolerating all of the specialty clothing that they drape him in.
He loves humans, which is why he is rarely spotted at the Feeders, rather he is accompanying the feeder staff and playing around with humans!
He has taken on a lot of responsibility as the Catbassador for Bingbing, but he doesn't let that sway him! He is a very hardworking individual.
Appearance
Dudu sports a bigger frame, bigger as in fatter. His facial features are accentuated by his small face, but big cheeks, resembling the facial shape of a square. When spotted on the feeder cam, he often sports boba eyes as well. At times, he often appears like he is at a loss for words, essentially stupid; which is due to his, at times, blank face and mannerisms.
He weighs 4.045kg!
Sightings
September 2024
- September 13, 2024: Dudu was first spotted at Feeder 3 around 06:07AM (LFT) idling around. Mr. Pug was seen attempting to approach the feeder during Dudu's occupation, however at the sight of Dudu, he decided to leave rather than intruding on his relaxation time.
October 2024
- October 10, 2024: Making his second camera appearance at Feeder 1 at 01:46AM (LFT), Dudu was seen loafing along with another unnamed cat. It was pure relaxation and he eventually got snacks dispensed for him! However he did not consume any.
- October 11, 2024: Dudu was again spotted at Feeder 1 at 07:51AM (LFT) lollygagging and guarding the food at the feeder. There was food dispensed for him; but yet again, he did not consume any.
- October 15, 2024: At Feeder 2, Dudu was found dawdling at Feeder 2 around 04:20AM (LFT), yet again staring deeply into the camera, and that was it.
