She is friends with Ms. Tux and Mr. Edo, who are her most frequent visitors. The same applies to their mother, Mama Tortoiseshell. She actively dislikes Mr. Slam and her ex-husband, Zi-Yi, and will attempt to chase them out whenever she sees them. |
Mrs. Dress, whose Chinese name is listed as "BaoBao" ("保保", lit. "Protect-Protect" or "Guardian-Guardian") on the Hello Street Cat app, is a cat that's almost always seen through the cameras of the Ten Thousand Kitties House (万猫屋) feeder.
She's listed as the "security guard" (保安) of her feeder, this is possibly why she is visible sleeping on the feeder all the time. Her nickname, Mrs. Dress, comes from the fact that she wears dresses due to scratching at her back too much out of stress.
Mrs. Dress is unique for being treated like absolute royalty compared to other cats, given things like dresses, treats, pampering and checkups by the caretaker. This is where her other nickname Mrs. Princess comes from. You may consider her as the queen of the feeder.
Though it may seem otherwise, Mrs. Dress is considered a stray as her caretaker has previously mentioned her inability to live alongside other cats, along with her preference for roaming around.
Behavior
Unlike most cats from other feeders on the app, the personality of Mrs. Dress is very well documented, thanks to her feeder's caretaker writing a detailed biography for her and her feeder's cats.
She's been noted to hate male cats with a passion as those that come tend to spray inside, with Mr. Edo being the sole exception as although he is greedy, he is considerably more polite than the others. However, what you may not believe in due to her massive size is that she's very picky and will only eat certain foods, most notably, she enjoys the wax gourd kibble the caretaker brings with them and dislikes steamed chicken breasts. She's also been said to only eat Mantous and nothing else during her stay in the hospital.
Even though she seems to be very happy and pampered, she has displayed tendencies of throwing a tantrum if the caretaker pisses her off, particularly when the caretaker is trying to make her stay in the feeder before bed.
Mrs. Dress is confirmed to have had a litter before being spayed afterwards. From then on, she would constantly itch at her back out of stress, causing the caretaker to put cat dresses on her. The caretaker also would apply medication and give her a tag to keep track of where she is at.
She is not a house cat, however, as she likes her freedom, and has been seen laying around on concrete sidewalks nearby. She does do fan meet-ups with her Chinese fans and has been seen laying on their laps and receiving pats from them.
Appearance
Mrs. Dress is a bicolored orange and white tabby cat with white spotting from her chin to her stomach. She has large green eyes with a pink nose and white whiskers. She is confirmed to be a female cat. Her caretaker puts a new outfit on her every day, usually a dress, but a shirt or a sweater on rare occasions. She's recently been seen without her dresses due to the hot weather. Occasionally she will be seen wearing a bee cone because of overgrooming.
Notable Sightings
February 2024
- February 29, 2024: At around 04:00 PM (LFT), she was seen making biscuits and shoving her blanket into the feeder, before taking a nap. It is unknown why she did this, but people have speculated that it was to cover up the food for later consumption, or simply to get comfortable and sleep.
March 2024
- March 02, 2024: At 09:56 PM (LFT), during her daily clothing change, she was seen with a ball of her own fur placed on her head by the caretaker. The caretaker also clipped two Chinese tassels by the side of her ears, though they were soon removed as Mrs. Dress seemed uncomfortable by their presence.
- March 04, 2024: At 09:51 PM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen smacking Mr. Edo with her paw after witnessing him steal the wet food she'd been given by the caretaker.
- March 07, 2024: At 09:52 PM (LFT), while on the caretaker's lap, Mrs. Dress was made to dance by the caretaker, she is mindless.
- March 09, 2024: Despite being given a new dress the day before, she was seen "naked" for most of the day.
- March 10, 2024: Due to his serial spraying, when Mr. Slam came in for a couple bites of kibble, Mrs. Dress body slammed him and chased him away.
- March 11, 2024: Differing from her usual activities, she was outside all day long, sunbathing on the grass and having fun with the caretaker. After being changed into her next dress of the day at around 10:28 PM (LFT), the caretaker gave her a couple of smooches on the cheek. She was seen smiling blissfully and toppling her head to the side afterwards.
- March 12, 2024: Mrs. Dress was also gone from her spot in the feeder for most of the day, and seen playing around on the grass through pictures her caretaker posted online. Because of her absence, Ms. Tux temporarily took over her spot for a couple of minutes at 08:50 PM (LFT).
- March 13, 2024: Brother (Hair)Style, a cat who usually eats from the feeder's old location, was seen with the caretaker during her daily clothing change. Mrs. Dress seemed jealous from the affection Brother Style was receiving from the caretaker, and so decided to swat at him with her paw, pulling out strands of his fur. Even so, she decided to be nice afterwards and let Brother Style loaf with her on the caretaker's lap.
- March 14, 2024: Mrs. Dress was caught meowing in front of the camera, maybe it's towards another cat? Maybe it's from her longing for the caretaker? No one is sure!
- March 16, 2024: Mrs. Dress was feeling extraordinarily feisty that day and beat Mr. Edo out of the feeder twice. Not that he minded in the slightest, as he kept coming inside to eat anyways.
- March 17, 2024: After the caretaker left, Mrs. Dress was seen rearranging her furniture, shoving most of her blankets and even her pillow towards the feeder. Because of the mess, the caretaker came by to fix it soon after. It's speculated that Mrs. Dress does this in order to lure the caretaker back to her feeder.
- March 19, 2024: Once again, Mrs. Dress shoved her blanket and the like straight into the feeder bowl before proceeding to sleep on it. The caretaker took the bait and came back to arrange her lodging once more.
- March 20, 2024: This day is significant as it is when Mrs. Dress first received her prized Pigllow, a pillow that is shaped and colored after a pig. She is seen sleeping on it for hours since and will do anything to not let it be used by any other cat.
- March 24, 2024: When Mrs. Dress came home to Ms. Tux sleeping in her usual spot, she seemed quite unperturbed at first. It didn't take long before she decided that she would be the sole sleeper of the Ten Thousand Kitties House, and evicted Ms. Tux by bulldozing through her blankets and pillow.
April 2024
- April 12, 2024: At 10:00 AM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen sleeping in her feeder along with Ms. Tux. She was here for a few hours.
- April 16, 2024: At 04:34 PM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen napping in front of her feeder.
- April 24, 2024: At 12:09 AM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen eating and getting checked up on by caretakers.
- April 30, 2024: At about 08:58 AM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen at the feeder, enjoying a popsicle offered to her by her caretaker.
May 2024
- May 04, 2024: Around 05:10 AM (LFT), she was taking a small nap while the birds were singing.
- May 08, 2024: At 12:20 AM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was spotted without her dress, eeping and chilling. Ms. Dress was found eeping peacefully at 01:20 AM (LFT), but had presumably been eeping since slightly before that.
- May 09, 2024: At 03:52 AM (LFT), Ms. Dress was sleeping.
- May 10, 2024: At 09:27 PM (LFT), Mrs. Dress was seen being fed by the caretaker.
- May 11, 2024: Mrs. Dress was found eeping, while Ms. Tux used her stomach as an eeping pillow
- May 13, 2024: At 09:28 PM (LFT), Mrs. Dress is being pet by her owner while Ms. Tux eats wet food beside her.
- May 30, 2024: At 8 PM (LFT) Mrs. Dress made one of the best loaves ever while eeping. She was spotted without her dress, in a black collar
- May 31, 2024: At 06:15 PM (LFT), Mrs. Dress is loafing in front of the kibble. She looks despondent and is currently injured from her habit of overgrooming.
June 2024
- June 2, 2024: Around 10:00PM (LFT) Mrs. Dress and caretakers were spotted cleaning up the dispenser. After some tidying, Mrs. Dress was put into a bee-autiful bumblebee cone and had her sores treated with some salve by the caretaker. To compensate for the miserable cone, Mrs. Dress was given lots of love and treats by the caretakers.
- June 4,2024: Around 10:00PM (LFT) (again) Mrs.Dress was brought by her caretaker. She received a bounty of love, which included a little ear rubbing, and lap pets. She received the glorious bee cone for the rest of the time she was at her feeder.
