Ms. Stubbs
Ms. Stubbs is one of several tabbies that appears at Huanzi Animal Rescue Base. She appears at both feeders, but shows up more at Rescue Base 1. She was first spotted by the global community on July 14, 2024. She was named for her stubby appearance.
Behavior
Ms. Stubbs is seen at the feeder often, both eating and hanging out. She seems to be quite intelligent, as when the feeder bowl was broken, she was the only one out of several cats who managed to move the feeder bowl out of the way some to reach the large amount of food stuck underneath.
In addition, Ms. Stubbs is known to antagonize other cats. She can sometimes be seen pawing at cats to try and get a rise out of them. She was able to successfully antagonize Mr. Socks this way; however, she is not menacing enough to get a rise out of Cousin Chill (although she has tried). Despite her antagonistic ways, she does hang out and eat regularly with other cats without issue.
She is also one of the cats known to jump on top of this feeder.
Appearance
Ms. Stubbs is a brown and white bicolour tabby. She has a distinct blotch that covers from the bottom part of her nose to around her mouth. The coloring on top of her head descends down the sides of her face in an upside-down V formation to a little below the bottom of her eyes. Her stomach is white, and there is a jagged line between the white and brown fur on her sides. Her legs have both white and brown coloring; her front legs are more white than her back legs.
Sightings
July 2024
- July 14, 2024:
- At 11:09 AM (LFT), Ms. Stubbs was seen hanging out by the feeder while an unnamed tux was eating. At 11:11, the tux left and Ms. Stubbs sat inside the feeder. She left at 11:22. She later returned at 11:33 after Mr. Socks ate and successfully used her hands to move the broken feeder bowl to get to the food stuck underneath. She left again at 11:39.
- At 7:32 PM (LFT), Ms. Stubbs was seen sitting in the feeder while Cousin Chill hung out outside. Cousin Chill soon entered the feeder and started eating. Ms. Stubbs started to try to disturb Cousin Chill, sniffing his butt and pawing at him, but Cousin Chill paid her no mind and Ms. Stubbs decided to leave him alone. She left right after Cousin Chill at 7:37.
- July 15, 2024: At 8:18 AM (LFT), Ms. Stubbs was seen eating at the feeder while Cousin Chill watched her from outside the feeder.
- July 16, 2024: At 7:38 AM (LFT), Ms. Stubbs was seen, along with the unnamed gray cat, watching an unnamed black and white cat eat. Shortly after, she ran over to Huanzi 2, ate some food from there for a few seconds, then ran back to Huanzi 1, where the black and white cat was still eating. She then proceeded to nip the black and white cat's ears a couple of times, but the black and white cat did not care at all about this, so Ms. Stubbs stopped. Soon after, both Ms. Stubbs and the unnamed cat left the feeder, and were seen playing off in the distance through the back view camera.
- July 19, 2024: At 1:05 PM (LFT), Ms. Stubbs approached the feeder, as seen through the back camera. She looked at the orange cat that was sitting next to the feeder, then entered the feeder and started eating while giving the back camera a confirmation that she is, in fact, female.
(Not every cat sighting is documented.)
